The Guaraníes have been inconsistent in the past year, with four of their last seven internationals ending in defeat. Gustavo Alfaro’s side picked up victories in only four of 11 games played since June 2025. 

Since securing World Cup qualification, South Korea, USA (twice) and Morocco have inflicted defeat on the Paraguayans. 

Head coach Alfaro is likely to make some changes to the side that slumped to defeat against the USA. Mauricio is tipped to come into the side after grabbing a consolation goal in his substitute appearance last time out.
