Last season, these teams met twice, with PSG winning on both occasions - 3:0 at home and 1:0 on the road. Looking further back, PSG have been, expectedly, much better, winning 10 out of the last 12 games - 83%.
During that 12-game stretch, six games ended with fewer than three goals while both teams scored on four occasions.
Toulouse team overview
Since gaining promotion to League 1 in the 2021/22 season, Toulouse have been a mid-table team, securing 13th, 11th, and 10th place consecutively. During the offseason, we believe they got slightly worse on paper and indeed had pretty bad displays in friendlies, eventually securing just two points in six games. However, when it mattered the most, in the Ligue 1, they impressed, winning 1:0 against Nice and 2:0 against Brest.
After the latest game vs Brest, coach Carles Martinez spoke to the media. He praised the team's behavior and was especially satisfied with their defensive approach. The coach noted the importance of keeping a clean sheet in back-to-back games, which was something they really struggled in the pre-season.

PSG team overview
The last season was PSG's best in the club's history. The Parisians finally won the Champions League title, but also managed to secure both domestic titles. During the offseason, they only got better, and we once again expect a good season.
PSG had a bit of a strange offseason because they didn't play any friendlies, as they participated in the FIFA Club World Cup, where they reached the finals, and then played (and won) in the UEFA Super Cup vs Tottenham. And in the Ligue 1, the Parisians opened the season with two (1:0) wins over Angers and Nantes.
For this match, the team could miss a few key absences. The best among them are Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who is out with an injury, and Gianluigi Donnarumma, who is on the verge of joining Manchester City.

Prediction
Toulouse went under 2.5 goals in both of their matches and did very well defensively, keeping a clean sheet in both games. On the other hand, despite scoring three goals in the first two games vs Brest and Nice, we do not trust their offense, especially against PSG. Also, last season, Toulouse were among the better teams for this type of bet as 17 out of 34 rounds ended with fewer than three goals.
Probably due to a lack of rest, PSG entered this season a bit slower. Yes, they won both games, but winning 1:0 vs Nantes and Angers is not what we are used to from them.
In the previous h2h game at Stadium de Toulouse, PSG won 1:0. Moreover, three out of the last five 2h2h games ended with fewer than three goals. Considering the trend in the previous h2h games and all the above, an under 2.5 goals bet seems like the best option for this Ligue 1 tie.
3 Reasons why we should see fewer than three goals
- Toulouse went under 2.5 goals in the first two games
- PSG won both of their Ligue 1 games with 1:0 (vs Nantes and Angers)
- PSG won the last h2h game at Stadium de Toulouse with 1:0
Main prediction -
Under 2.5 goals
