Tottenham had a weird season last year. They won the EL title but were atrocious in the Premier League, finishing 17th! That resulted in sacking coach Ange Postecoglou, and it seems that was the right move for the Spurs. Under coach Thomas Frank, they are sitting in 3rd place after seven rounds with 14 points - two away from the top spot. The Spurs also managed to win four points in the first two Champions League. So, an overall good start across the competitions. 

The players who missed the previous games with injuries should remain sidelined - Kota Takai, Dominic Solanke, James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, Randal Kolo Muani, and Radu Dragusin. Two more players suffered injuries during the international break and will most likely miss the upcoming game against Aston Villa - Ben Davies and Yves Bissouma.

Aston Villa have been among the top seven teams in the Premier League under Unai Emery. However, they had a really bad start to this season, failing to win in the first six games (five PL games and one EFL Cup game). Yet, after that poor start, they strung four wins in a row - two in the EL and two in the PL. Now, the Villans are sitting in 13th place with nine points after seven rounds. They are in a very good momentum, but will have a tough job of continuing with positive results, as they struggled away from home this season.

In the previous game vs Burnley, Emiliano Buendia suffered a head injury and had to leave the field a few moments before the end of the match. He will most likely miss the upcoming game, along with Tyrone Mings and Youri Tielemans, who missed the previous games with their injuries. Moreover, Jadon Sancho, who missed the last two games due to illness, will most likely be ready.
