An out-of-form Stromsgodset return to the Marienlyst Stadion this weekend with the hosts bidding to avoid a fourth successive Eliteserien defeat.

A miserable run of form has seen Jørgen Isnes's side slip to defeat in five of their last six league fixtures, including setbacks against Kristiansund, Bryne and Sandefjord in the past month. 

Dismally off-colour in home fixtures, Stromsgodset lost all four home Eliteserien games played in the new campaign. Their most recent victory at this venue came last November. Contrastingly, the hosts had won four of their final five games at Marienlyst Stadion last season. 

Placed inside the relegation zone, the Godset have picked up just six games from eight games played, and now face a HamKam side unbeaten in three of their last four matches.

Despite being just two points ahead of the home side, the visitors come into this fixture in better spirits after an excellent 2:1 win against Molde last weekend. Snorre Strand Nilsen's first goal of the season secured a morale-boosting win for the Kamma. 

Jakob Stein Michelsen's side have a strong recent record in matches against Stromsgodset, remaining unbeaten in each of their last four visits to this venue. Given the hosts recent struggles, a similar outcome could be on the cards on Saturday.

While by no means a banker pick, I'm taking a small stakes punt on the visitors in the double chance market this weekend.
