UEFA Europa League Qualifying action takes place at Stade de Genève this week as Servette hosts FC Utrecht in the first-leg of their third-round contest.
Servette claimed a 1:0 friendly victory in the only previous encounter between these sides in a friendly fixture three years ago. However, recent form suggests we can expect a more entertaining contest this week, with both teams delivering plenty of high-scoring outcomes this summer.
Servette FC team overview
Servette return to action on Thursday looking to avoid a fourth successive defeat. Since a 1:0 first-leg victory against Viktoria Plzen in their UCL qualifier two weeks ago, Thomas Häberli´s men have have lost each of their last three matches, conceding ten goals in the process.
Following a 3:1 home reversal against Plzen that ended their Champions League hopes, the Swiss side then fell to a painful 4:1 home reversal against St Gallen last weekend.
High-scoring outcomes have been frequent for the home side. Servette have seen over 2.5 goals scored in five of their last six matches, while both teams also got on the scoresheet in each of those five fixtures.
Head coach Häberli is likely to make some changes to his selection this week. Alexis Antunes, Théo Magnin and Ablie Jallow are among those tipped to earn recalls to the first XI.

FC Utrecht team overview
FC Utrecht makes the trip to Switzerland in high spirits after a commanding 7:2 aggregate victory against Sheriff secured their place in Thursday's 3rd round qualifier.
After an impressive 3:1 first-leg win in Moldova, Ron Jans's side made light-work of the second-leg, claiming a comfortable 4:1 win in the Netherlands last week.
Like the home side, Utrecht have seen several high-scoring contests this summer. Six of their last seven games finished with over 2.5 goals scored, while five of those matches also finished with BTTS landing.
Jans is likely to retain faith in the same side that eased past Sheriff last week. The Dutch side have three expected absentees with Zidane Iqbal, Mike Eerdhuijzen and Ivar Jenner are likely to remain sidelined this week.

Prediction
A high-scoring outcome seems likely in Thursday's Europa League qualifier. Both teams have delivered plenty of goals in recent fixtures, and a similarly entertaining matchup seems likely this week.
BTTS is my preferred pick, while I also fancy Utrecht to avoid defeat in a game where we should see a minimum of three goals scored.
Three Reasons Why We Expect BTTS in Servette FC vs FC Utrecht
- Servette have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 matches
- Servette have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 6 home matches
- FC Utrecht have seen BTTS in 5 of their last 7 matches
