Sassuolo’s recent form includes a 2-1 win over Cagliari on Thursday - their fourth victory of the season - marking a much-needed boost. The Neroverdi have been on an upward trajectory over the past month, winning three of their last five Serie A matches and losing only once, away to Roma. Sassuolo cannot be strictly defined as either a home or away side in terms of form and consistency, as their performances have been relatively balanced across venues - winning twice and losing twice at the Mapei Stadium (W2 L2), and recording two wins, one draw, and two defeats on the road (W2 D1 L2).

A worrying trend, however, has been their defensive vulnerability at home. Sassuolo have kept only one clean sheet in their Serie A home fixtures this season - a 1-0 victory over Lazio - conceding in every other outing at the Mapei Stadium.

The past month has been particularly bleak for the Grifone, with four defeats from their last five Serie A fixtures, including away losses to Torino and Napoli. Their away form has been especially poor, collecting just one point from four road games and conceding an average of 1.8 goals per match.

The only positive ahead of Monday’s encounter is their near full-strength squad. Ruslan Malinovskyi is the only doubt and may miss out, but otherwise Genoa’s injury situation looks favourable.
