Real Sociedad find themselves in the relegation zone following a sluggish start to the campaign during which they have picked up only 6 points from a possible twenty-seven.

Having won two of their last three home games against Sevilla, they will be feeling confident about returning to winning ways this week. Orri Óskarsson is ruled out for the hosts due to a thigh injury that has kept him out since August.

Meanwhile, Sevilla go into Friday’s game after a humiliating 3-1 defeat to Mallorca at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán.

Los Nervionenses had won two consecutive La Liga games for the first time since April 2024, when they won three in a row, and were tipped to beat the Vermilions.

Matías Almeyda’s side started the game well and went ahead after 16 minutes, but were outplayed in the second half by Mallorca, who scored three times.

César Azpilicueta was replaced after only four minutes due to injury in that game, and the former Chelsea player will miss this week’s match. The visitors' other injury concerns are Tanguy Nianzou (hamstring) and Alfon González (sprain).
