Last year was a pretty poor one for Los Blancos as they failed to win a single trophy. That eventually resulted in letting go of Carlo Ancelotti and appointing Xabi Alonso, a former Real Madrid player who did well in Bayer Leverkusen recently. Los Blancos have been awesome under Xabi Alonso, winning 10 out of 11 games across the competitions. They sit at the top of La Liga with 24 points from nine matches and are tied with five other teams for first place in the Champions League. So, an overall dream start thus far. 

In the previous game against Getafe, David Alaba suffered an injury and had to leave the field after 46 minutes. He will most likely miss the upcoming game, along with a few others who missed the previous games with injuries - Trent Alexander-Arnold, Dani Ceballos, Ferland Mendy, and Antonio Rudiger. Additionally, Daniel Carvajal will miss the game due to a red card suspension in the CL. However, some sources suggest he is injured and wouldn't be able to play anyone.

Juventus, a 36-time Serie A winner, won their last league title in 2019/20. Since then, they were mostly the third or fourth best team in Italy. Last year, they finished fourth and secured the Champions League. This year, the popular Old Lady had an excellent start - winning the first three games. Unfortunately, after that initial good start, they haven't secured a win in the following six matches. Right now, they are in 7th place with 12 points - still only four points away from the top spot. In the CL, the Old Lady sits in 22nd place with two points in two rounds and is desperate to win points against Real Madrid. 

After a 2:0 loss vs Como, coach Igor Tudor spoke to the media. He admitted his team performed poorly and lacked precision in the attack. The coach was also asked about the job security after failing to win in the last six games, but the Croat did not want to answer, saying he is only focused on improving the team.
