Rayo return to La Liga business after a thrilling 3:2 win against Lech Poznań in the Conference League on Thursday, to climb to sixth in the overall standings.

Los Franjirrojos have now won three of their last four matches in all competitions, while they have lost just one of their last eight games. 

Íñigo Pérez’s side sit tenth in La Liga, just four points outside of the European qualification positions. 

Rayo have a great record against Real Madrid at Estadio de Vallecas, and they should be confident of pushing the visitors all the way this weekend.  The hosts are unbeaten in four of their last five home games against Los Blancos. 

Head coach Íñigo Pérez is unable to call on Luiz Felipe (hamstring) and Abdul Mumin (knee), while Diego Méndez remains a fitness doubt. Several changes are expected from Thursday’s European lineup, with Jorge de Frutos, Alemao, Pedro Díaz and Andrei Rațiu likely to return to the first XI.

Despite that setback, Los Blancos have been the standout team in La Liga, winning 10 of their 11 matches to sit five points clear of Barcelona on 30 points. 

While in great form domestically, Real have conceded in four of their last six league fixtures, resulting in BTTS in all four matches. Given their record at this venue, which has seen them fail to keep a clean sheet in four of their last five visits, a similar outcome could be on the cards this weekend. 

Head coach  Alonso remains without Aurélien Tchouaméni, who is sidelined with a hamstring injury until later this month. Dani Carvajal and Antonio Rüdiger are also ruled out, while David Alaba and Franco Mastantuono are unlikely to feature.
