PSG were magnificent last season, dominating in the domestic competitions and the Champions League and securing a triple. Their roster suffered minimal changes, and it is fair to expect them to continue with such performances. This year, in the Champions League, they absolutely dominated, winning all three games vs Atlanta, Barcelona, and Bayer Leverkusen with a combined goal difference of 13:3! Still, in the Ligue 1, they haven't been as dominant as expected. Yes, they are at the top, but with 21 points out of ten rounds, only one point away from second-placed Monaco. Compared to last season, they are averaging almost 0.4 points per game fewer. 

After a 1:1 draw vs Lorient, coach Luis Enrique spoke to the media. He was frustrated with a draw and was especially critical of their first half, saying they failed to create any chances. The coach said it is hard to attack against a deep block, particularly if you lack mobility. Enrique also expressed his frustration about Desire Doue's injury. According to the first media reports, the 20-year-old will miss the rest of the 2025 year with a high tear. 

Nice came to this season after a really good one where they finished fourth in Ligue 1, missing out on third place and the Champions League main phase by just one point. This season, the popular Eaglets did well in the domestic league, winning 17 points from ten rounds. Meanwhile, they were terrible in the Europa League, losing all three games in the main phase. However, overall, they are looking perfect, especially as they won three out of the last four games against excellent teams.

After a 2:0 over Lille, coach Franck Haise spoke to the media. He was very happy, saying they showed real progress from the group and that this is a real step forward. When asked about the lack of ball possession, he said he would like to be dominated like that every game if the outcome were the same.
