Oxford’s 2025/26 campaign has produced inconsistent results, leaving them hovering just above the relegation zone after 17 Championship matches. They sit in the lower reaches of the table with a record that translates into fewer points per game than most of their rivals, averaging just 0.88 points per match. Gary Rowett’s men have entered one of their worst periods of the season so far, going winless in five successive league fixtures (D3, L2). It is clear that Kieran McKenna’s men are among the contenders for promotion to the Premier League - if not automatically, then certainly through the play-off route - and they will be expected to secure victories against inferior opposition in their current vein of form.
