Wednesday´s League Cup clash takes on even more intrigue with the news that the hosts have sacked head coach Erik Ten Haag on Monday. Ruud Van Nistelrooy has been appointed as interim boss at Old Trafford.

A dismal run of form, which has seen the Red Devils win just one win of their last eight matches saw the Dutchman staring down the barrel after Sunday´s 2:1 defeat at West Ham.

Poor defensively and lacking in consistency at home, United come into this contest having failed to keep a clean sheet in nine of their last 11 matches at Old Trafford. Four of their five most recent matches saw BTTS, and that outcome looks likely with Leicester sure to smell blood after the dismissal of Ten Haag.

The Foxes make the trip to Old Trafford looking to bounce back from a 3:1 home reversal against an in-form Nottingham Forest over the weekend. Steve Cooper´s men had picked up back-to-back EPL victories against Bournemouth (1:0) and Southampton (3:2) before Friday's setback at the King Power Stadium.

While underdogs on Wednesday, much depends on the strength of side fielded by Cooper, but the Foxes can surely get on the scoresheet against a ropey United defence. Leicester have seen BTTS in three of their last four matches, including a 4:2 road defeat at Arsenal.

With five of seven previous meetings between these sides seeing both teams get on the scoresheet, I´m confident we will see a similar outcome on Wednesday. BTTS is my only choice at Old Trafoffrd.
