Lorient have had a rollercoaster start to the 2025/26 season. They have been involved in some of the campaign’s highest-scoring matches, including a standout 1-7 defeat to Lille in late August that heavily skews their goal difference. Aside from that, they have shown the ability to both score and concede freely, but their leaky defence remains the biggest concern - 25 goals conceded in just 11 matches highlights their vulnerability at the back. Lorient have endured a miserable few weeks, failing to win any of their last five league games: drawing twice against PSG and Brest but losing the other three. With only two wins from 11 attempts, the Breton side appear destined for another battle to avoid relegation in Ligue 1 for the 2026/27 season. 

Faye, Katseris, and Fadiga are all ruled out through injury and will not feature.

Toulouse sit comfortably in mid-table, having collected 15 points from 11 games (four wins, three draws, four defeats) and boasting a +2 goal difference - a record that suggests they neither dominate nor struggle excessively. Their season includes a 3-6 defeat to PSG, a result that underlined their defensive weaknesses but also showcased their attacking potential when the game opens up. Unlike the hosts, Toulouse enjoyed a solid October, losing only once away to AS Monaco while picking up two wins and three draws in that period. Apart from the heavy loss to PSG, Toulouse have been relatively stable defensively, conceding just 15 goals across their 11 league matches.
