After finishing only three points above the relegation zone last season, Gremio surely hoped for a less stressful year. With five games left, the team from Porto Alegre is five points above the relegation zone and needs a few more points to secure another season in the top flight of Brazilian football.

Vasco's Paulo Henrique got a red card late in the previous round and will skip the trip to Porto Alegre. Also, Adson and Jair are injured, while Benjamin Garre is questionable.
