Porto and Al Ahly will face off in New Jersey on Tuesday, with both teams aiming for their first victory in Group A of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

The Portuguese side were favourites to win this group at the beginning of the tournament but things have not gone their way so far. Martin Anselmi’s team had only three shots on target in their opening group game last weekend against the Brasilian Serie A team Palmeiras, and only managed to take home a point. They got off to a flying start against Inter Miami in their second game, taking the lead after just eight minutes, but Lionel Messi and his teammates overturned the tie to win 2–1 in the second half.

Al Ahly also began their Club World Cup campaign with a goalless draw but the Egyptians dominated proceedings against Inter Miami, registering 11 shots with eight of them on target. They struggled against Palmeiras on Matchday two, registering only two shots on goal, and Tuesday won't be any easier.

Al Ahly may have picked up only one point from their two games so far, but they have certainly impressed many people, myself included, with their defensive play. The Red Devils have conceded only two goals in their two games so far, and bets on under 2.5 goals have won in both games.

Porto have conceded the same number of goals, and with the Portuguese side also struggling to score, I don't think there will be many goals in Tuesday's game in New York City.
