The Faroe Islands are ranked #140 on the FIFA World Ranking List and #47 in Europe. They have never reached a major tournament, and that is unlikely to change anytime soon. In these Qualifiers, they opened with two losses against Czechia and Montenegro. Still, these games against other "small" countries are the perfect opportunities to grab some wins, as they have been successful against such teams in recent years. We believe they showed some progress in previous years, considering they managed to move from the UEFA Nations League D to C. After that, they did very well in the previous campaign in League C, missing the playoffs for League B by one point.

Gibraltar, meanwhile, are ranked #196 on the FIFA World Ranking List and the third-worst (52 out 54) in Europe. Just like the Faroe Islands, they have never been to any major tournament. However, unlike the Faroe Islands, which constantly play competitive games against good teams (even in losses), we cannot say the same for Gibraltar. They are a team that consistently loses by a large goal difference against strong teams, and even scoring a goal against anyone is a challenge.

Faroe Islands vs Gibraltar pick: Under 2.5 goals

The Faroe Islands have been fantastic for this bet. They are a team that struggles to score but have been fantastic defensively. In the last ten games, they allowed one or zero goals on eight occasions, and in the other two, they allowed two goals. Additionally, they faced much stronger teams than Gibraltar, such as Georgia, Czechia, and North Macedonia. During that ten-game stretch, they were under 2.5 goals eight times.

Gibraltar rarely scores goals, especially away from home. On the road, they scored just two in the last 11 games - a terrible 0.19 goals per game. Defensively, it is evident that they cannot compete with good teams, as they often get outplayed and crushed. However, against other weaker teams, they often performed well and even managed some clean sheets, including against Liechtenstein, San Marino, Andorra, and even Wales in a friendly match.

In the last h2h game, we saw a goalless draw. While we believe the Faroe Islands are a better team, we do not trust them to win by two (or more) goals difference due to pretty poor offensive performances lately. Instead, we believe that an under 2.5 goals bet is the best option.
