CAF World Cup Qualifiers
Up to this day, the two teams have faced each other five times, and on every occasion Cameroon emerged victorious, including a commanding 3-0 demolition of Mauritius in their first meeting of this WC qualifying group.
Mauritius team overview
As could be expected before the start of this qualifying phase, Mauritius have established themselves as one of the least impressive sides in Group D, having managed to put only a meager five points on the board across the opening eight matchweeks.
Their only bright spot came in mid-June, when they managed to eke out a narrow 2-1 win at home against a struggling Eswatini side, but they quickly returned to reality, taking just a single point and suffering three defeats in their next four matches.
This means that their wait for a World Cup debut will be extended, but Les Dodos will try to sign off from these qualifiers in a respectable way, even though the task will be far from easy, as their final two matches pit them against the top two contenders, Cameroon and Libya.
Lindsay Rose, currently with Greek team Aris, will be absent from the October international fixtures after suffering an injury that kept him off the pitch for his club’s most recent games.

Cameroon team overview
As far as the Cameroon national team is concerned, they were the clear favorites to finish atop Group D and secure automatic qualification for the World Cup, but as things stand, they will have to take the harder route to reach the global stage next June.
In fact, the Indomitable Lions had performed flawlessly right up until their final outing, when they succumbed to the narrowest of defeats in a top-of-the-table clash against Cape Verde, marking their first loss since Belgian tactician Marc Brys took charge.
That setback left them sitting second in their section but at the same time shattered their hopes of securing a direct World Cup berth, as they now trail Cape Verde by four points with two rounds to go, while also needing to stay alert since third-placed Libya are breathing down their necks with just a single point less.
New York Red Bulls veteran forward Eric-Maxim Choupo-Moting has been named in the final pair of World Cup qualifiers and is expected to make his first appearance of the campaign after missing the previous call-up due to illness.

Prediction
Although their scoring drought finally ended after more than 360 minutes, Mauritius’ 3-1 defeat to Angola stretched their winless run to 10 consecutive matches in all competitions. For that reason, we believe that Les Dodos stand little chance against a Cameroon side determined to claim a convincing victory and boost their hopes of finishing as the best of the four runners-up in the qualifiers. In the end, we expect the Indomitable Lions to take control right from the first minute, show their full potential on the pitch and record a massive victory.
Four Reasons we expect AH2 (-1.5)
- Angola have not won a match since June 2024, a run that stretches to 10 winless games (D5 L5).
- Angola have failed to score in all but one of their last five competitive matches.
- Cameroon have scored exactly three goals in three of their last five games.
- Cameroon have defeated Angola by a margin of three or more goals in four of their last five meetings.
