Elche vs Girona prediction 07.12.2025 | La Liga

Elche constantly moved between La Liga 2 and La Liga for over a decade. Last season, they secured promotion and are only looking to survive this year. For now, they are doing well, as they sit in 11th place with 16 points from 14 matches. Still, that 11th place looks a lot better than it actually is because the difference between them and the danger zone is only four points. 

After a 2:1 win over Quintanar del Rey, coach Elche spoke to the media. He said they will leave the game happy because they got through, which is the most important thing. However, the coach was unhappy because they had control of the game, but lacked precision in the final third. 

After a magnificent 2023/24 season when they finished third and secured the Champions League, Girona had a disastrous following season, finishing 16th. They eventually avoided relegation by only one point. This season, the Catalan team are again among the relegation candidates. To be fair, they showed some positive signs recently, winning five points in the past three La Liga games. However, they are still in the danger zone, currently in 18th place with 12 points, on level with 17th-placed Osasuna, which are in the safe zone. 

After a 2:1 loss vs Ourense CF, coach Michel spoke to the media. He said he is not angry with his players because they gave everything they had. However, he wasn't happy with their performance, saying they did not play well. Still, the coach said that squad availability limitations led to such a poor result. 

For the Elche game, the Catalan team could miss up to nine players. Luckily, most of those players are rotation pieces, not key players.
