Crystal Palace became a synonym for the Premier League mid-table, but it seems that they are ready to make a step forward this season. Although it is still too early in the season, it is notable that Crystal Palace are only two points behind the Champions League positions, and a victory against Brighton could mean a lot to that goal. Oliver Glasner's team is in excellent form, having won the last three matches across all competitions. In the most recent outing, Crystal Palace won 3-1 at home in the Conference League against AZ Alkmaar. The home side ended with xG of 3.82, while the guests had only 1.19, so anything other than Crystal Palace's victory was unrealistic. 

Crystal Palace have some problems with missing players. They will be without Cheick Doucoure, Edward Nketiah, Rio Cardines, and Caleb Kporha. Chadi Riad recovered from a cruciate ligament tear, but it is probably too early to see him in action, so the defender will skip the game as well. 

Like Crystal Palace, Brighton were also a stable mid-table team in recent years. The current campaign is not much different, as Fabian Hurzeler's team is only three points behind the top four positions. Brighton showed some signs of slowing down in recent weeks with two consecutive defeats. However, Hurzeler's team returned to the right track in the previous round, when they won 3-0 at home against Leeds. The home side dominated throughout the game and secured a victory that will provide a major confidence boost ahead of the trip to Selhurst Park. 

Adam Webster, Solomon March, Brajan Gruda, James Milner, and Jack Hinshelwood are injured and will not play on Sunday afternoon. Also, Kaoru Mitoma, who has been injured since September, is, according to reports, upgraded to questionable and could return this week.
