Brest vs Nantes prediction 04.10.2025 | Ligue 1

After a tremendous third-place in the 2023/24 season, Brest returned to their usual mid-table position last year. Eric Roy's team started the new season badly with one point in the first four Ligue 1 rounds, but they turned things around with two wins in the previous two games. Last weekend, Brest won 2-0 on the road against Angers. The guests' excellent first half was enough to pick up a victory in that game.

Brest's Remy Labeau Lascary suffered an injury in the second half against Angers. After the game, it was revealed that the forward had dislocated his elbow and that he will not play for the next three or four weeks. With Labeau Lascary being sidelined, Pathe Mboup will probably start on Saturday against Nantes. 

Besides Labeau Lascary, Brest will also be without Mama Balde, Justin Bourgault, and Lucas Tousart on Saturday at Stade Francis-Le Ble. 

Last season was challenging for Nantes as they ended with only three points more than the relegation playoff position. Luis Castro's team is not much better in the 2025/26 season and could again be part of the relegation dogfight. In the first six league rounds, Nantes collected only five points. In the previous game, they played 2-2 on the road against Toulouse. Although the home side was the favorite to win, Nantes played well and took home a valuable point. 

One of the reasons why Nantes is currently one of the worst teams in the competition is that they have won only one point in three matches away from home. However, the game in Toulouse was good for Luis Castro's team, which should be an encouraging sign. 

Nantes' Johann Lepenant suffered a shin injury in the previous Ligue 1 round. However, the tests didn't reveal the fracture as feared, so the player should be considered questionable for Saturday. The definite decision will be taken closer to the kickoff. If Lepenant can't play, he will join Francis Coquelin, who is already unavailable.
