Barcelona vs Real Sociedad prediction 28.09.2025 | La Liga

Barcelona makes the trip to Carlos Tartiere on Thursday after a well-deserved 3:1 win against Oviedo earlier this week. Robert Lewandowski made a goal-scoring substitute appearance as Hansi Flick's side fought back from behind to secure another La Liga victory. 

A superb start to the season has seen the champions make a solid start to the defence of their title, with five wins and one draw picked up from six games played. 

Defensively improved, Hansi Flick's side kept clean sheets in five of their last nine La Liga games, and another comfortable win seems likely this week. 

Barcelona have seen over 2.5 goals scored in ten of their last 12 victories, and after a 4:0 win in last season's corresponding meeting against Sociedad, should be confident of maintaining their fine form of the past month. 

Head coach Flick is unable to call on Marc-André ter Stegen, Gavi and Fermín López this weekend. Alejandro Balde and Lamine Yamal could be fit to return, but both face late fitness tests.

Real Sociedad make the trip to Catalonia after claiming a first win of the season against Mallorca earlier this week. Mikel Oyarzabal's second goal of the season secured a first win in six La Liga games for the Basque side. 

Sergio Francisco's side endured a tough start to their season, picking up just two points from five games played. Sociedad lost three successive La Liga games before their much-needed win against Mallorca on Wednesday. 

On the road, the Royal One have struggled in the past year, losing 12 and winning just five of 22 La Liga away fixtures, including a 4:0 defeat at this venue last season. 

Head coach Francisco could name the same side that edged past Mallorca. Injured duo Yangel Herrera and Orri Oskarsson both remain sidelined for the visitors.
