Aston Villa established themselves as one of the best teams in England. Yes, they had a rough start as they failed to win in the first six games, and it did not look good. However, after that initial bad start, Emery's squad went on a great run, winning 12 of the following 14 matches across competitions. Right now, the Villans are in third place with 27 points from 14 matches. The second-placed Manchester City are only one point away, and the first-placed Arsenal are six points away. So, with a possible win here, the Villans would significantly close the gap between them and their next opponent, Arsenal.

After a 4:3 win over Brighton in the previous game, coach Unai Emery spoke to the media. He said it was a very tough match but acknowledged they kept the mentality and resilience, which eventually led to victory. The coach praised Ollie Watkins, who scored two goals and eventually ignited the comeback. 

After three seasons finishing second, Arsenal again looks like a championship team. In previous seasons, they slowed down in the later stages of the season, and it will be interesting to see whether history will repeat itself. After 14 rounds, the Gunners are at the top spot with 33 points - five points away from the second-placed Manchester City. Still, on the road, they showed some weaknesses, failing to win against Chelsea and Sunderland in back-to-back games. So, the Gunners will undoubtedly have a challenging task at Villa Park. 

The Gunners will have two new injuries from the previous game against Brentford: Declan Rice and Cristhian Mosquera. Those are big losses considering they already have four more key players out with injuries - William Saliba, Leandro Trossard, Kai Havertz, and Gabriel.
