Mali are still searching for their first win at this AFCON. All three of their group matches ended in draws. However, they played 1-1 with Morocco, the tournament favourites, and became the only side to take points off them so far.

Tunisia's group stage ended with a win, a draw and a loss from three games. Even their loss came in a tight 3-2 game against Nigeria, a side ranked inside the CAF top five. The 2004 champions did enough to reach the round of 16 and sit 7th in the CAF rankings, slightly above Mali.

Looking at the head-to-head record, Tunisia clearly have the edge. Still, Mali keep finding ways to stay alive and are unbeaten in their last six matches. This will be a tight contest, and we predict both teams to score at 2.20.
