Toulouse have been a mid-table team in the previous three years, since their return to Ligue 1. This year, Les Violets are once again in their usual place, sitting in 10th place with 37 points from 28 rounds, and are without a real chance of reaching the European spots. However, Les Violets have a different route to secure Europe as they reached the Coupe de France Semi-Finals, where they will face Lens. While no one really sees them as the favorite to win the title, they already surprised everyone a couple of years ago by winning the Cup. But in Ligue 1, they have no real motive, as they cannot move significantly up or down. 

Santiago Hidalgo served his one-game suspension in the previous match vs PSG. However, he will most likely miss the Lille match, as he appears to have an ankle injury. Moreover, the players who missed the previous games due to injury should remain sidelined - Frank Magri, Rafik Messali, Abu Francis, and Charlie Cresswell.

With the exclusion of the 2021/22 season, Lille have been among the top five teams in France, even winning the title in 2021. This year, the Mastiffs have done very well in Ligue 1, considering they are in 3rd place with 50 points from 28 rounds. However, the next four teams are separated by only three points, and they have to keep winning to secure third place and a Champions League spot. Yet, after their elimination from the EL, they had two impressive victories over Marseille and Lens and have every reason to be optimistic about their chances. 

Winger Matias Fernandez-Pardo suffered an injury in the previous game against Lens and had to leave the field ten minutes before the end of the match. The 21-year-old has been really good this season, and his potential absence will be a factor. 

Moreover, Ousmane Toure and Hamza Igamane should remain sidelined, while Chancel Mbemba should be ready after missing the previous match due to not returning on time from international duty.
