Tottenham are enduring another disappointing season. After finishing 17th last year, there has been no meaningful improvement, and the Spurs once again find themselves stuck in the bottom half of the table. Tottenham's form is worrying as they have won only one of their last six matches. In the previous game, they lost 3-2 on the road against Bournemouth. The teams were close to splitting points, but the hosts scored late in the second half and left Tottenham empty-handed. 

Tottenham appointed Thomas Frank last summer and had great expectations for the 2025/26 season. The Danish manager signed a contract through 2028, but after a series of poor results, his position seems in trouble. While the board is expected to remain patient for now, every poor performance only intensifies the pressure from both supporters and the media.

Dejan Kulusevski, Mohammed Kudus, Dominic Solanke, and James Maddison are injured and will not play on Saturday against Aston Villa. Also, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma are still at the African Cup of Nations. 

Aston Villa are excellent this season. They are among the top three teams in the Premier League, with five points behind the league leader, Arsenal. Aston Villa were incredible in the previous two months, with 12 victories in the last 14 matches across all competitions. In the most recent outing, Unai Emery's team played 0-0 on the road against Crystal Palace. Both teams had good chances to score throughout the game, but eventually a draw seemed the fairest outcome. 

Although Aston Villa are outstanding this season, the club from Birmingham will try to strengthen the squad further. According to the reports, Emery's team is interested in Omar Marmoush, who is failing to find regular playing time at Manchester City. 

Aston Villa will be without Amadou Onana, Ross Barkley, and Evann Guessand on Saturday evening, while Tyrone Mings is questionable and his status will be clearer closer to the kickoff.
