An in-form Strasbourg will be confident of extending their unbeaten run when they take on a struggling Metz side on Sunday.

The hosts return to Ligue 1 business this weekend on the back of a commanding Coupe de France win against Avranches, while Metz make the trip to Stade de la Meinau after a disastrous home defeat in their cup tie against Montpellier.

Strasbourg have been the dominant force in recent encounters, and have been priced-up accordingly as odds-on-favourites to claim victory at Stade de la Meinau.

Strasbourg

Strasbourg team overview

Strasbourg come into Sunday's Ligue 1 contest with high confidence after a dominant 6:0 win against Avranches in the Coupe de France last weekend. Julio Enciso scored twice in an easy win in Gary O'Neil's debut as head coach.

Despite the departure of Liam Rosenior to Chelsea, Strasbourg have been in decent form, picking up four wins and two draws from their last six competitive fixtures. However, the hosts have failed to win their five most recent Ligue 1 matches.

Le Racing have a decent record in home fixtures, though, picking up five wins from eight Ligue 1 games at Stade de la Meinau this season. RCS now sit seventh in the division, six points behind fifth-placed Lyon.

Head coach O'Neil has several injury issues to deal with this weekend. Saïdou Sow, Mamadou Sarr, Andrew Omobamidele and Sebastian Nanasi are ruled out, while Emmanuel Emegha, Ismael Doukouré, Guéla Doué and Maxi Oyedele are all listed as doubtful.

Metz

Metz team overview

Metz resume their Ligue 1 relegation fight after a dismal 4:0 home defeat against Ligue 2 opponents Montpellier last weekend. Despite failing to win their last four league fixtures, the underdogs eased to a commanding win at Stade Saint Symphorien.

Stephane Le Mignan's have endured a miserable campaign, with only 12 points picked up from 17 Ligue 1 fixtures this season. More recently, have have claimed just one draw in their five most recent league matches. Les Grenats sit bottom of the division, four points short of safety.

A high-scoring outcome seems likely in Sunday's Ligue 1 contest. Metz have seen over 2.5 goals scored in six of their last eight matches while each of the last five meetings between these sides at the Stade de la Meinau also saw a minimum of three match goals.

Head coach Le Mignan has a number of players likely to miss out this weekend. Cheick Tidiane Sabaly is ruled out and Koffi Kouao is suspended, while Joseph Mangondo, Pape Sy and Jean-Philippe Gbamin face late fitness tests. Habib Diallo is unavailable due to his involvement with Senegal in the AFCON final this weekend.
