Southampton return to St. Mary's Stadium on Saturday, looking to bounce back to winning form after a narrow 2:1 defeat at Norwich last weekend. Jovon Makama's second-half brace secured the points for the Canaries.

The Saints have picked up some form under new boss Tonda Eckert, with six victories in their last eight games, including each of their last four home Championship fixtures.

Defensive vulnerabilities have led to several high-scoring outcomes in recent weeks. All but one of their last 11 games finished with a minimum of three goals scored. Southampton have also seen both teams on the scoresheet in seven of their eight most recent fixtures.

Head coach Eckert has one confirmed injury absentee this weekend. Wellington remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

Coventry make the trip to Southampton after a hard-fought 1:0 win against Bristol City last weekend. Ephron Mason-Clark's fourth goal of the season secured a valuable win for the Championship leaders.

Before last weekend's victory, Coventry had dropped five points from two previous Championship games, but remain at the top of the division, with a reduced five-point advantage on nearest rivals Middlesbrough. 

On the road, the Sky Blues have shown some defensive weakness this season. Frank Lampard's side conceded 15 goals in 11 away fixtures, while they failed to keep clean sheets in four of their last six games. All four matches finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

That outcome has been frequent in previous meetings between these sides. Nine of ten previous encounters finished with both teams on the scoresheet.

Head coach Lampard is likely to retain confidence in the same side that edged past Bristol City.  Top scorer Brandon Thomas-Asante remains sidelined with a hamstring injury while Oliver Dovin is a long-term absentee.
