Sassuolo vs Verona prediction 20.02.2026 | Serie A

Sassuolo return to Mapei Stadium in high spirits after an impressive 2:1 win at Udinese last weekend. Two goals in a three-minute second-half spell from Armand Laurienté and Andrea Pinamonti secured the points for Fabio Grosso's side. 

I Neroverdi have enjoyed an improved run of form in the past month. Sassuolo picked up victories in three of their last four Serie A games, helping them rise into the top half of Serie A. Before their recent victories against Cremonese (1:0), Pisa (3:1) and Udinese (2:1), Grosso's side had failed to win nine of ten previous league fixtures.

A strong record in this fixture will give the hosts further confidence on Friday. Sassuolo picked up victories in eight of their last 12 meetings, including a 1:0 win in Verona earlier this season.

Head coach Grosso has five selection issues to deal with this week. Edoardo Pieragnolo and Fali Candé are ruled out, Nemanja Matić and Tarik Muharemović are suspended, while Daniel Boloca is doubtful.

Verona make the trip to Mapei Stadium after a frustrating 2:1 defeat at Parma last weekend. Mateo Pellegrino's stoppage-time goal condemned Verona to another road reversal. 

A dismal Serie A campaign shows little sign of improvement. I Gialloblù have now failed to win any of their last ten matches, leaving them at the bottom of the division, with just 15 points picked up from 25 games completed. 

On the road, Paolo Sammarco's side have won just one of 13 away Serie A games this season. Verona lost three of their last five matches on their travels. 

Head coach Sammarco has a long list of players who could miss out this weekend. Tomáš Suslov is ruled out, Jean-Daniel Akpa Akpro is suspended, while Nicolás Valentini, Antoine Bernede, Sandi Lovrić, Roberto Gagliardini, Rafik Belghali and Pol Lirola are all doubtful,
