Sassuolo vs Torino prediction 21.12.2025 | Serie A

Sassuolo suffered an unexpected relegation in 2023/24 but managed to return instantly in the following season. This season, Neroverdi returned to being a mid-table Serie A team, at least for now. After 15 rounds, Neroverdi are in 9th place with 21 points, much closer to European spots (four points) than the danger zone (nine points). 

After a 2:2 draw with AC Milan, coach Fabio Grosso spoke to the media. He was pleased with the result, saying they showed character. Even though he was happy with a draw, the coach said they had some regrets because they could have surprised Rossoneri and walked away with all three points. 

For the upcoming game, coach Grosso will have a couple of important absences. Domenico Berardi is out with an injury, and Kristian Thorstvedt will serve his one-game suspension. But besides those two key players, a few more will be out with injuries (Boloca, Paz, Pieragnolo, Romagna, Turati, and Skjellerup), while Woyo Coulibaly is with his NT at the Africa Cup of Nations.

Torino are playing their 14th consecutive Serie A season, where they were mostly a mid-table team. This season, the popular Toro is once again around their usual placement, sitting in 13th place with 17 points from 15 matches. The main reason for the somewhat worse season is their poor road performance. If they want to avoid the relegation battle, Toro will have to start winning more points away from home.

After a 1:0 over Cremonese, coach Marco Baroni spoke to the media. He was satisfied with the team's attitude, describing it as a "Toro attitude, da squadra" (a true Torino team mentality). The coach also said that the comebacks of Simeone and Ismajli are definitely one of the reasons for winning all three points.

However, compared to the last game, Torino will miss Saul Coco, one of the team's most important players this season. The 26-year-old is called for his NT and will be unavailable. This season, Coco started in 13 out of 14 Serie A rounds.
