Rizespor vs Genclerbirligi prediction 15.09.2025 | Super Lig

Since returning to the strongest Turkish competition in 2023, Rizespor have had two mid-table finishes. Most pundits expected the same from them in the 2025/26 season, too, but Rizespor won only one point in the opening three league rounds. In the previous game, Ilhan Palut's team lost 3-1 on the road against Galatasaray. The home side is probably the best team in the country, so it is no wonder that Rizespor went home empty-handed. 

Rizespor were active in the last days of the summer transfer window. They added Jesurun Rak-Sakyi (who came from Crystal Palace), Loide Augusto (Vasco da Gama), and Yahia Fofana (Angers). All three players will have the opportunity to debut for Ilhan Palut's team on Monday against Genclerbirligi. 

Rizespor will have almost a full squad for the upcoming league round. Valentin Mihaila is questionable, and he could be the only one to miss the match against Genclerbirligi. 

After four years of absence, Genclerbirligi returned to the Super Lig. They are one of the worst teams in the competition, and the only goal for Huseyin Eroglu's team should be to avoid relegation. However, their start is terrible as Genclerbirligi opened the season with four defeats in a row. In the previous game, they lost 3-1 at home against Fenerbahce. The home side played solidly in the second half, but at that moment the guests already had too big an advantage, and it was too late to salvage something from the match. 

Genclerbirligi were very active during the last week of the summer transfer window. Ricardo Velho (who came from Farense), Tom Dele-Bashiru (Watford), Dal Varesanovic (Rizespor), Kevin Csoboth (St. Gallen), and Franco Tongya (Salernitana) are the new players and could start on Monday in Rize. 

Genclerbirligi have problems with missing players. Daniel Popa, Henry Onyekuru, Ensar Kemaloglu, and Peter Etebo are out and will not play on Monday. Also, Firatcan Uzum and Abdullah Sahindere are questionable.
