Relegation-threatened Real Oviedo look for a rare victory this weekend when they take on an in-form Celta Vigo.
The La Liga newcomers have struggled to find much form in recent weeks, and come into this fixture after a depressing defeat at Sevilla last weekend. Celta, while in fine fettle in La Liga, slipped to a surprise Copa Del Rey setback at Albacete earlier this week.
Now set for their first encounter in nearly a quarter-of-a-century, a hard-fought and potentially low-scoring contest could be on the cards in Northern Spain.
H2H stats
Real Oviedo and Celta Vigo have not met since 2001. Celta claimed two victories in three previous encounters at the start of the century.
Real Oviedo team overview
Real Oviedo return to the Carlos Tartiere Stadium after a dismal 4:0 defeat at Sevilla last weekend. Two goals conceded either side of half-time ensured a miserable trip to Andalusia while Haissem Hassan's late red card rubbed further salt in Oviedo wounds.
A lack of discipline has been costly for Guillermo Almada's side in recent fixtures. Los Azules picked up four red cards across their last four matches.
Now winless in ten matches, a lack of firepower has been the biggest issue for Oviedo. The hosts failed to score in each of their last five league games, while they have drawn blanks in all but one of eight previous La Liga matches.
Head coach Almada has several selection issues this weekend. Luka Ilić and Álvaro Lemos are ruled out, while David Carmo is suspended. Nacho Vidal and Javier Rueda are doubtful, and Ovie Ejaria also remains unavailable.

Celta Vigo team overview
Celta Vigo make the trip to Oviedo after a disappointing Copa Del Rey defeat against Albacete earlier this week. Following a 2:2 draw at Carlos Belmonte Stadium, Claudio Giráldez's side then slipped to a miserable 3:0 defeat in the shootout.
Os Celestes have been in good form in La Liga, picking up five victories in their seven most recent league fixtures. Celta now sit eighth in the division, only two points outside of the European qualification positions.
A strong road record should give Giráldez's men plenty of confidence this weekend. Vigo won each of their last four away La Liga games, including a hugely impressive 2:0 win against Real Madrid earlier this month.
Celta Vigo are dealing with a lengthy list of injury issues. Pablo Durán and Carlos Domínguez are ruled out, while Joseph Aidoo, Bryan Zaragoza, Ionuț Radu, Marcos Alonso and Sergio Carreira are all doubtful and will require late fitness checks.
