Betis fans haven’t had much to complain about lately. Los Verdiblancos have lost just once in their last 12 matches across all competitions and even that defeat came against Barcelona, a game where Betis still managed to score three.

That says something about their confidence going forward. Midweek, Pellegrini rotated heavily in the Copa del Rey and still saw his side comfortably dispatch Real Murcia. So fatigue shouldn’t be an excuse here. However, there’s a small concern at La Cartuja. Only one win from their last four league games at this venue hints at a slight dip in home sharpness.

Cucho Hernández is Betis’ go-to attacker and top scorer in the league with six goals so far. He’s expected to team up with Antony, who’s chipped in with five goals of his own in a quietly effective campaign.

Isco is still out with an ankle injury, missing more time as he recovers.

Getafe arrive in Seville in a very different mood. Los Azulones are on a three-game losing run and the low point was surely the 3-1 defeat to Segunda División side Burgos in the Copa del Rey.

That result raised eyebrows, even by Getafe’s sometimes chaotic standards. Bordalás’ side have also lost three of their last four away matches, and when you add their poor recent record against Betis, it’s hard to dress this up as anything other than a tough assignment for the travelling fans.

Goals have been a major issue. Getafe have scored just 13 in the league all season, with Borja Mayoral and Adrián Liso responsible for more than half of that total. Unsurprisingly, both are expected to start again on Sunday.

Luis Milla returns after serving a one-match ban following his red card against Villarreal, which should help in midfield. Discipline remains a concern, though. Another booking for Djené or Domingos Duarte would trigger a suspension.
