Pisa will continue their search for their first win of the 2025-26 Serie A campaign on Thursday night, when they play host to Lazio. The two sides are separated by seven points with the visitors sitting in 10th place and Pisa second from the bottom. While the bookies favour Lazio to win, Alberto Gilardino’s side will be motivated by the fact that they didn’t lose either of their last two home games, keeping a clean sheet in both.
Pisa team overview
Pisa's return to the Italian top flight after finishing second in Serie B last season has been challenging, with I Nerazzurri currently just one point off the bottom.
They are one of only four teams yet to register a win in the 2025-26 Serie A season, having lost four and drawn four of their eight matches so far.
Gilardino’s side have been hard to beat recently though, avoiding defeat in three of their last four matches and keeping two clean sheets. However, the fact that they failed to score in three of those matches is a huge cause for concern ahead of Lazio’s visit this week.
Having come off the bench to score against AC Milan last week, Juan Cuadrado is pushing for a start on Thursday. Calvin Stengs, Tomás Esteves and Mateus Lusuardi are all ruled out due to injury.

Lazio team overview
Lazio would have liked to start the new season with more than one win from the opening four matches, especially after finishing outside the European places.
Le Aquile replied by going on an unbeaten run of four matches, featuring a 3:0 win over Genoa and a fantastic performance that saw them beat Juventus Turnin 1:0 at Stadio Olimpico last weekend.
The other two games ended in draws, but Marco Baroni’s side showed great fighting spirit and character by scoring the equaliser in the 13th minute of additional time.
Toma Basic is doubtful after picking up a knock against Juventus last time out, while Samuel Gigot, Taty Castellanos, Nicolò Rovella, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Nuno Tavares are all sidelined by injury.

Prediction
After coming from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Milan last time out, Pisa will be fired up and will fancy their chances of getting something against Lazio, but scoring goals is their major weakness as they have failed to score in five of their last seven games. They will be taking on a Lazio side that is not quite fluent in attack, so I am expecting a close game, which could end with a 1-0 scoreline for the visitors.
Three reasons we expect under 2.5 goals in this game
- Four of the last six games of Lazio ended with under 2.5 goals.
- Seven of the last ten games of Pisa ended with under 2.5 goals.
- Lazio have failed to score in four of their last six matches.
Main prediction -
Under 2.5 goals
