Parma seems better than last season, when they finished with only five points above the drop zone. In the current campaign, Parma had some bad periods, but they didn't last for too long, so Carlos Cuesta's team should be good enough to avoid a relegation dogfight. Parma lost only one of the last five matches. In the previous game, they played 0-0 on the road against Napoli. The guests had only 0.18, but they defended extremely well and eventually picked up another valuable point.

Parma's head coach, Carlos Cuesta, talked about the reasons why his team was able to take a point from Naples. He said, "The points came from that spirit, the willingness to sacrifice and give everything. The players are the ones who go out there and put in performances that add real value to the team."

Parma have big problems with missing players. They will be without Pontus Almqvist, Matija Frigan, Vicente Guaita, Mathias Lovik, Niakhate Ndiaye, and Zion Suzuki.

Genoa have another similar season to their previous two, when they ended 11th and 13th in Serie A. Daniele De Rossi's team is currently five points above the relegation zone. Genoa are far from safe, but a solid three-game unbeaten run in January gives them plenty of optimism about the coming months. In the most recent outing, De Rossi's team won 3-0 at home against Cagliari. According to the stats, the teams were pretty even, but Genoa's superb finishing was enough for a significant victory. 

Genoa are working on bringing Tommaso Baldanzi on loan from AS Roma. Daniele De Rossi believes Genoa's team is incomplete and is asking the club to make the effort to sign the former Empoli player. The negotiations are in the final phase, and De Rossi could have Baldanzi even for Sunday's game in Parma. 

Genoa will be without Maxwel Cornet, Caleb Ekuban, Albert Gronbaek, Jean Onana, and Benjamin Siegrist in the upcoming Serie A round.
