Nigeria vs Gabon prediction 13.11.2025 | World Cup Qualifiers

Nigeria are one of the best African teams and one of the teams that pretty regularly secure a World Cup. They appeared in three consecutive tournaments in 2010, 2014, and 2018 but failed to reach the WC in Qatar. So, they are definitely eager to change that. In these Qualifiers, they were, on paper, the best team in their group C, and it was expected to finish first. Unfortunately, an unexpected home draw against the worst team in the Group (Zimbabwe) pushed the popular Super Eagles to second place, one point behind the first-placed South Africa. 

Now, in this second stage of the competition, they are the highest-ranked team according to the FIFA World Ranking List, but securing the World Cup via this route will be challenging.

Gabon are #77 on the FIFA World Ranking List and #15 (out of 54 teams) in Africa. Even though they have never reached a World Cup, the popular Panthers were super close to doing that in the first stage. They finished second with 25 points in ten rounds, only one point behind the first-placed Ivory Coast. So, despite being the lowest-ranked team in this tournament in Morocco, Gabon undoubtedly proved they are a team more than capable of advancing to the international playoffs. 

On November 7th, coach Thierry Mouyouma named his squad for the upcoming tournament. In the press conference, the coach said one of the keys to the upcoming game vs Nigeria is to control the game in midfield. "I want us to hold onto the ball more, not just for possession's sake, but to dominate play in our own half and progress collectively as a unit," the coach added. He also said they have a dream to go to the World Cup and will keep believing in it.
