Nigeria vs Benin prediction 14.10.2025 | World Cup qualifications

Nigeria played in six of the last eight World Cups and it will be a big surprise if they miss the tournament that will be played next year in the USA, Canada, and Mexico. Eric Chelle's team is currently third in the qualification group with three points fewer than the group leader, Benin, and needs to win on Tuesday even to have a chance to qualify. 

Although Nigeria are undefeated in the last four matches, they didn't show their best in any of those games. In the most recent outing, Chelle's team won 2-1 on the road against Lesotho. The guests had ball possession on their side, but they had too many problems to break one of the weakest African teams.

Nigeria's head coach, Eric Chelle, admitted that his players felt immense pressure during the camps, but although there were some missed chances against Lesotho, he is proud of their performance. 

Ademola Lookman will miss the decisive game due to suspension. 

Benin have never appeared at a World Cup and have yet to make a major impact at the Africa Cup of Nations, so it would be a major surprise if Gernot Rohr's side were to finish as group winners. Benin are two points above the next team on the table, the South African Republic, so a draw on Tuesday evening could be enough to secure the World Cup appearance. Benin won the last three matches. In the previous game, they won 1-0 on the road against Rwanda.

After a hard-fought victory in Kigali, Benin's head coach, Gernot Rohr, said, "It was a very tactical match. A difficult match with very little football. But since it was so important, you can't come here to put on a show. "We were here to get a result."

After picking up yellow cards in Kigali, Sessi D'Almeida and Yohan Roche will serve a suspension against Nigeria.
