Manchester United vs Newcastle United prediction 26.12.2025 | Premier League

Manchester United had one of their worst seasons ever last year, finishing 15th in the Premier League. They had their chance to save the season through the Europa League, but lost in the Finals to Tottenham. This season, the Red Devils are doing better than last season, but we all expect a lot more from them, especially since they are focused only on the domestic competitions. At the moment, they are in 7th place with 26 points - just three points away from fourth-placed Chelsea. Still, contending for the title seems impossible as they are already 13 points behind Arsenal, and securing the Champions League appears like their maximum. 

For the upcoming game against Newcastle, Noussair Mazraoui, Amad Diallo, and Bryan Mbeumo will be unavailable as they are on international duty with their NTs at AFCON. Also, in the previous game, Bruno Fernandes suffered a thigh injury and will be unavailable, along with Kobbie Mainoo, Harry Maguire, and Matthijs de Ligt, who will remain sidelined with their injuries. On the positive side, Casemiro will be available after serving his one-game suspension.

Newcastle had three solid seasons behind them, finishing between fourth and seventh place. Unfortunately, they haven't continued with such performances this year, at least in the Premier League. After 17 rounds, they are in 11th place with 23 points - three away from their next opponent. However, on the positive side, the Magpies did well in the Cup competitions, having recently secured the EFL Cup Semi-Finals and also the Champions League 1/16 Finals. 

Unlike Manchester United, the Magpies will have no players called for the ongoing AFCON. However, they will still have several important ones out due to injuries they sustained earlier - William Osula, Jamaal Lascelles, Sven Botman, Emil Krafth, Kieran Trippier, Valentino Livramento, and Dan Burn. At the same time, Nick Pope is questionable with a groin injury.
