Malaga vs Deportivo La Coruna prediction 12.10.2025 | La Liga 2

Malaga come into Sunday's La Liga 2 contest in miserable form after a fourth successive defeat suffered in their most recent fixture against Racing Santander last weekend. Reduced to ten men after 46 minutes, three goals conceded in the second period condemned Sergio Pellicer's side to a miserable road reversal. 

Three of Malaga's last four defeats came in away fixtures, and while in poor form, their record in home games is stronger. Los Boquerones lost just two of their last ten home La Liga 2 games since the end of last season. 

A lack of firepower has been the biggest issue for the home side, though. Malaga failed to score in three of their last four games, while they have scored just six goals in eight games played this season. 

Past encounters between these sides suggest we should expect Malaga to make life difficult for the La Liga 2 leaders. All but one of their last eight games finished with under 2.5 goals scored, while four of their last eight meetings finished level.

Head coach Pellicer will be forced into at least one change to his selection this weekend. Francisco Montero misses out after his dismissal in last weekend's defeat against Racing.

Deportivo make the trip to Malaga in solid form after a 1:1 draw at home to Almeria last weekend extended their unbeaten run to eight matches. Yeremay Hernández's second-half strike rescued a point for Antonio Hidalgo's side. 

Os Brancoazuis have been held to draws in both of their last two league games, but remain top of the division with 16 points picked up from eight games played (W4, D4).

On the road, La Coruna have been held to draws in two of their last three matches, and another competitive contest is expected, despite the hosts' lack of recent form. 

Head coach Hidalgo has no reported injury issues this weekend. Yeremay Hernández and Samuele Mulattieri are expected to lead the visitors attack.
