Levante constantly went between La Liga and La Liga 2 in the 21st century. Last year, they returned to the Spanish top flight in their third consecutive season in the second tier. Their goal for the season is to survive, but it became clear very early that it won't be easy. The Frogs had a very tough period between November and the first half of December, losing five La Liga games in a row, which eventually led to the coach being replaced. However, since then, they have won four points against Real Sociedad and Sevilla. Those two games could indicate better days to come. 

For the upcoming game, Roger Brugue, Unai Elgezabal Udondo, Victor Garcia, and Goduine Koyalipou should remain sidelined with injuries, while Karl Etta Eyong is unavailable as he is currently at AFCON.

In the last six seasons, Espanyol were among the worst La Liga teams, even spending two seasons in La Liga 2. However, this season, the Catalan team is doing great and was on a magnificent five-game winning streak before finally losing to Barcelona in the last game. Still, Espanyol are now in fifth place with 33 points from 18 matches - just five points away from Champions League spots and with one game fewer. 

With Charles Pickel returning from AFCON, coach Manolo González should have almost the entire squad available. The only player who should miss the upcoming match is Pol Lozano, who will serve his one-game suspension. We expect Ramón Terrats to start as a replacement.
