Leganes vs Albacete prediction 04.12.2025 | Copa del Rey

Last season, Leganes fought bravely in La Liga, but eventually ended with one point fewer than the safety. After relegation, most pundits expected Paco Lopez's team to be one of the prime candidates for promotion, but Leganes collected only 18 points in the first 16 league rounds and will need big improvements to fulfill their goals. Leganes are in terrible form lately, losing in four of the previous five matches. In the most recent outing, Lopez's team lost 3-2 on the road against Zaragoza. The home side ended with 63% ball possession and 15 shots on goal more than the guests, so it is no wonder that Leganes suffered another defeat. 

Leganes are not playing well, and there are a lot of voices about the possible sacking of Paco Lopez. However, the club president recently stated that he believes in Lopez and that he will get more time for the turnaround. 

Leganes' Marvel, Duk, and Amadou Diawara are suspended and will not play on Thursday against Albacete. Lalo Aguilar, Ruben Pena, and Ruben Pulido are unavailable, too. 

Albacete are another team that could have problems with avoiding relegation. They are currently only one point above the drop zone. Like Leganes, Albacete are in bad form, as they lost three of the last four matches. In the previous game, Alberto Gonzalez's team lost 2-0 at home against Deportivo La Coruna. The guests' significantly better efficiency was enough to leave the hosts empty-handed. 

Albacete have big problems in defense. They are the worst defensive team in La Liga 2, with 27 conceded goals in 16 rounds. The head coach, Alberto Gonzales, is still not in danger of losing his job, but they have to solve the issues if they don't want to slip further in the standings. 

Higinio Marin, Agus Medina, and Javi Villar are injured and will not play on Thursday in Leganes.
