Two sides separated by just two points in the Italian top flight meet on Sunday evening as Lazio play host to Roma.

Lazio have not been the same side they were two seasons ago when they finished second in Serie A. The Biancocelesti finished seventh last season and are currently in seventh place. Despite being tipped to win the first leg of their Europa League quarter-final against Bodo/Glimt in midweek, Marco Baroni's men were stunned by a 2-0 defeat and will be looking to bounce back this weekend.

Roma, meanwhile, have finished sixth in each of the last three seasons and currently occupy the same position. The visitors were knocked out of the Europa League by Bilbao over three weeks ago, but have responded well since then and are unbeaten in their last three league games. They recorded two wins and kept as many clean sheets in that time.

Lazio vs Roma Betting Tips: Under 2.5 goals

The big headline in Lazio's recent form has been the lack of goals, with five of their last six games ending with under two goals scored.

Roma have also proved to be a defensive force to be reckoned with in the Italian top flight in recent weeks. In fact, the visitors have kept three clean sheets in their last four league games, with the same number of games ending with just one goal scored.

Meetings between Lazio and Roma are not known for being entertaining affairs. Punters who have backed under 2.5 goals have won each of the last six encounters between the two sides and Sunday's result should be no different.

  • Best Tip: Under 2.5 goals
  • Lazio vs Roma prediction: 1-1
