Seven defeats avoided in the last eight matches across all competitions suggests visiting teams are not finding it easy.

In attack, Mattia Zaccagni and Matteo Cancellieri lead the way with three league goals each. Modest numbers, admittedly, but both are expected to line up again up front.

There are problems elsewhere. Adam Marušić and Tijjani Noslin are suspended after seeing red against Napoli, so both are ruled out. Samuel Gigot and Patric remain injured, while Matías Vecino is sidelined with a fever. Squad depth will be tested.

Fiorentina’s slide has been hard to ignore. The Violets finished in the top half in each of the last four seasons and ended last year in sixth. That version of the team feels distant now.

Paolo Vanoli’s side sit 12th with just 12 points from 18 matches. Only two league wins all season tells its own story. Still, there is a flicker of momentum. Both victories came in the last three games. Away from home, though, it has been grim. Four straight defeats on the road is not something you brush off easily.

Moise Kean is one bright spot. His goal off the bench last time out took him to five league goals, and he will be pushing hard for a start. Jacopo Fazzini remains unavailable after missing eight matches with a muscle injury. On the plus side, the Violets arrive with no suspensions to juggle.
