- Competition: World Cup Qualifiers
- Date: Friday, 10th October, 2025
- Kickoff: 15:00 UK / 16:00 CEST
- Venue: Astana Arena (Astana)
On Friday afternoon, two of the bottom teams from Group J, Kazakhstan and Liechtenstein, will face off against each other in the sixth round of the World Cup Qualifiers at Astana Arena in Astana. While the hosts hope to look for their second win of the qualifiers, the visitors are still searching for their first goal of the competition, and a match against Kazakhstan is probably their best chance of doing that.

WC Qualification Europe
These teams met just once throughout history. That was only a few months ago in Liechtenstein in the first round of these WC Qualifiers. That time, Kazakhstan won 2:0 in a match where they completely dominated the game, having 70% ball possession and many more goal-scoring chances.
Kazakhstan team overview
Kazakhstan are still searching for its first World Cup and EURO appearance as an independent country. Throughout the seasons of UEFA Nations League we could see them slowly improving as they went from League D to League B. Unfortunately, before these Qualifiers, it became apparent that they are not on the same level as the teams from League B, as they got hammered by Norway, Austria, and Slovenia, and finished last in the group with only one point and a 0:15 goal difference.
In these WC Qualifiers, Kazakhstan won three points in five rounds, only winning against Liechtenstein. Right now, they are already seven points behind the desired second place, and they do not have a real chance of catching up with those teams.

Liechtenstein team overview
Liechtenstein are ranked #204 in the FIFA World Ranking List and are the second-worst-ranked team in Europe, only above San Marino. They are a team that searches for points in games against similar opponents - Malta, San Marino, Gibraltar, etc. In the previous UEFA Nations League D, they even finished last in a group with San Marino and Gibraltar and won just two points in four rounds.
In these games against solid teams, they have very little chance of even scoring, let alone winning a point. After five rounds in the World Cup Qualifiers, they are still without a point and even a goal scored.

Prediction
Both teams have been atrocious in these Qualifiers, but there is still a massive difference in their performances. Kazakhstan haven't had a good game in a while, but in the previous h2h game, just months ago, the difference in quality was noticeable. Kazakhstan won 2:0 on the road and dominated the game entirely. So, at home, we expect another win by at least two goals difference. At home, they had some nice wins in the EURO Qualifiers, and we do not doubt they should dominate Liechtenstein again.
When it comes to Liechtenstein, they lost eight in a row and, more importantly, they lost every single time by at least two goals difference. Additionally, the last four games across the competitions ended with losses by three or more goals.
Considering all the above, and especially the difference in quality we witnessed only months ago, we believe the home side will win this match comfortably and cover the -2 AH spread.
3 Reasons why Kazakhstan should win and cover the -2 AH spread
- Kazakhstan won the previous h2h game 2:0
- Leichtenstein lost eight games in a row
- Leicester lost by three or more goals difference in the last four matches
Main prediction Kazakhstan - Liechtenstein
AH1 (-2)
