Guinea are still waiting for their first World Cup appearance. They did fairly well in the previous Qualifiers, finishing 4th with 15 points - three points away from having a chance as one of the best second-placed teams in the Qualifiers. 

They also had a rough period in the previous AFCON Qualifiers, failing to secure the main phase of the tournament after three consecutive appearances. Looking at their squad, we firmly believe they have to at least appear in the AFCON, and we would be shocked if they failed to secure one of the top two spots in Group D. However, after losing the first game, they are now in a must-win situation. 

Kenya are #109 on the FIFA World Ranking List and a team that hasn't appeared in the previous three competitions. They are generally not among the teams that often qualify for the main phase, only having seven appearances in 37 tournaments. However, this time, even though they are playing in the Qualifiers, they automatically secured the main phase as one of the co-hosts, regardless of the results. 

In the first game of the AFCON Qualifiers, Kenya barely secured a draw with a late equalizer against Eritrea. After the game, coach Benni McCarthy spoke to the media. He was satisfied with the performance, saying he doesn't have a single complaint despite securing only a draw. The coach said they had enough chances and were by far the better team.
