Girona return to Estadi Montilivi after a hard-fought 1:1 draw at Levante last weekend. Trailing for over 40 minutes in the second period, Joel Roca's goal - four minutes into added time - secured a point on the road for Michel's side.

Los Blanquivermells have shown plenty of resilience in recent weeks, with only two defeats recorded in their last ten La Liga games. Three of their last five games finished deadlocked, and Girona now sit 15th in the division, six points above the relegation zone. 

Usually a reliable choice to get on the scoresheet, Girona failed to score in just one of ten previous matches. Each of their last five games finished with both teams on the scoresheet, an outcome recorded in seven of eight previous fixtures with Athletic Club.

Head coach Michel has several selection issues this weekend. Cristhian Stuani and Álex Moreno are doubtful to feature while Vitor Reis is suspended. Juan Carlos, Bryan Gil, Donny van de Beek, Portu and Marc-André ter Stegen are confirmed absentees.

Athletic Club travel to Girona seeking a response after back-to-back defeats against Real Sociedad and Barcelona. Following a 1-0 Copa del Rey loss to their local rivals last week, Bilbao suffered another narrow setback, falling 1:0 at home to Barcelona.

Before last week's disappointments, Athletic had been in decent form, winning four and losing just one of seven previous fixtures. The Basque side now sit 10th in La Liga, but only four points above Girona. 

Despite drawing blanks in their last two fixtures, Bilbao have proven a surprisingly solid choice for BTTS backers this year. Only three of their last 14 games - including last week's defeats - did not finish with both teams on the scoresheet. 

Ernesto Valverde has a long-list of potential absentees this weekend. Unai Eguíluz, Maroan Sannadi, Beñat Prados and Nico Williams are ruled out, Alejandro Rego and Yeray Álvarez are suspended, while Aitor Paredes and Unai Gómez face late fitness tests.
