Gimnasia LP come into Monday's LPA contest with spirits raised following a surprise 1:0 win at River Plate last weekend. Marcelo Torres´s second-half penalty secured an impressive away victory for Fernando Zaniratto´s side.

El Lobo have struggled for form before last week´s shock victory, with five defeats in their six previous matches. Over a longer period, consistency has been the issue, with five wins and seven defeats recorded in 12 games since July.

Both teams have struggled defensively in recent weeks, while past encounters have delivered in the goal markets. All but one of the last six meetings between these sides finished with BTTS while four of their last five encounters finished with over 2.5 goals scored.

At this venue, three of Gimnasia´s last four games also saw at least three goals scored.

Head coach Zaniratto could be missing up to four first-team players this week. Ivo Mammini , Maximiliano Zalazar, Facundo Di Biasi and Matías Melluso are set to remain sidelined with various injury issues.

Velez Sarsfield make the trip to Estadio Juan Carmelo Zerillo after a disappointing 1:0 defeat against Talleres at the start of the month. 

A mixed run of form in the past month has left the visitors winless in four of their last six matches, although they did score a 2:0 win at Sarmiento in their most recent road contest.

Fourteen games into Group A of the LPA season, Velez sit fourth in the division, nine points ahead of Gimnasia. 

Head coach Guillermo Schelotto is unable to call on three first-team players this week. Injured trio Joaquín García, Tomás Cavanagh, and Emanuel Mammana are set to miss out on Monday.
