An intriguing U19 clash takes place in Voluntari this weekend as old rivals Germany and Netherlands meet at Anghel Iordănescu Stadium.

Making their 10th appearance at the finals, Germany claimed glory at this competition in both 2008 and 2014, and be one of the favourites to lift the title in Bucharest next month.

The Dutch arrive in Romania, also as one of the strongest contenders to claim continental glory. Making their seventh appearance at the finals, the Netherlands UI9 best performance at this event saw them reach the semi-finals in 2017. 

In a competitive looking section featuring England and Norway, both nations will be keen to kick-start their competition in what is likely to be a lively contest at Anghel Iordănescu Stadium.

Previous encounters between these nations at the U19 level have typically delivered in the goal markets. Four of five previous meetings finished with BTTS and over 2.5 goals scored. 

Eight of Germany's last 12 games saw a minimum of three goals scored, while Netherlands scored at least one goal in all but two of their last 13 matches.

Both teams have plenty of attacking firepower within their squads, and I expect a fairly open contest with chances at both ends. 

BTTS is my first pick, while I would not be surprised to see Saturday's contest finish with at least three goals scored.
