Fulham plays Nottingham Forest to wrap up Matchweek 17 on Monday night. Both teams are close to the relegation zone – not in danger yet, but not totally safe either. Forest is five points above the drop, which sounds okay until you see who they play next. Fulham is 14th, with a seven-point lead but I bet their supporters aren't calm.

These two have already met twice in 2025, and Fulham won both encounters. A 2:1 victory at the Cottage in February was followed by a more comfortable 3:1 away win in July. The picture is still quite consistent if you zoom out a bit more. In the last ten matches, the Whites have won eight times, with Forest winning twice. There haven't been many games with few goals either, with an average of almost three per game.
Fulham team overview
After edging past Burnley 3-2 last weekend, Fulham had a chance to string together back-to-back wins for only the second time in two months when Newcastle visited for the League Cup quarter-final. It did not quite click. A 2-1 defeat followed, another reminder of how unpredictable this side can be.
Just two wins from their last five matches tells part of the story, and the fact that none of those victories came at home probably nags at Marco Silva more than he lets on.
Still, there were signs of life here recently. The 4-3 loss to Manchester City earlier this month was chaotic but encouraging. Coming back from three goals down against the Citizens takes nerve, even if the points slipped away.
On the injury front, Rodrigo Muniz and Ryan Sessegnon remain sidelined with hamstring issues, while Saša Lukić is a doubt after early withdrawal against the Magpies last time out. Selection will get trickier with Samuel Chukwueze and Calvin Bassey away at AFCON.

Nottingham Forest team overview
Forest, meanwhile, arrive with momentum that feels very real. Six wins from their last eight matches in all competitions is not a fluke, and the manner of a few of those results raised eyebrows across the league.
Winning 3-0 at Anfield does that. Repeating the same scoreline against Tottenham at the City Ground last weekend only reinforced the point.
Away from home, Forest have been far sturdier than earlier in the season. They have avoided defeat in four of their last five road games, picking up three wins and keeping three clean sheets along the way.
In terms of availability, the trip comes too soon for Nicolás Domínguez, Matz Sels, Ryan Yates, and Chris Wood, all still nursing injuries.
Willy Boly and Ibrahim Sangaré have also departed for the Africa Cup of Nations with Ivory Coast, which thins out the spine of the side a little.
With all these absences, Club record signing Kevin who is still waiting for his first Premier League goal will hope to join Jiménez and Wilson upfront.

Prediction
A 2-2 draw makes a lot of sense once you sit with the numbers for a moment. Fulham matches have turned into open affairs lately, with over 2.5 goals landing in five straight outings and five conceded at Craven Cottage this month alone. Forest have quietly made themselves hard to beat away from home, unbeaten in four of the last five. However, AFCON departures do strip some balance from the visitors. With recent meetings averaging around three goals, it is hard to picture either side keeping this tight on Monday night.
Three reasons we expect at least three goals in this game
- Four of the last five meetings between Fulham and Forest ended with over 2.5 goals.
- Six of the last eight games of Forest produced three or more goals.
- Bets on over 2.5 goals won in each of the last five games of Fulham.
Main prediction Fulham - Nottingham Forest
Over 2.5 goals
