Everton have been one of the rare teams that have never been relegated from the Premier League, at least in this format. However, in recent seasons, they came close to it. This season, the Toffees are doing a much better job as they are in 8th place with 37 points from 25 rounds - 1.48 points per game. That is significantly better than in the previous seasons. The Toffees are well-positioned to secure a place in Europe, as they are only two points behind sixth place. That would be their first appearance since the 2017/18 season, when they competed in the Europa League. 

After a 2:1 win over Fulham, coach David Moyes spoke to the media. The coach was happy with the win and said it would probably keep them away from the bottom of the league. However, the coach said they don't want to just secure survival and urged the team to push for a place in Europe. Coach Moyes served his one-game ban against Fulham and will be back on the bench for the game against the Cherries. 

Bournemouth have been mostly a mid-table team in the Premier League in their last three seasons since their return to the top flight. This season, the Cherries looked very good at the start, spending the first ten rounds in the top five. Unfortunately, after that, they had a two-month poor spell, failing to win in 11 straight games. Now, the Cherries have once again raised their form and have a real possibility of reaching Europe. They are undefeated in the past six games (in regular time), while earning one point against Aston Villa and three against Liverpool during that six-game stretch. Those results on their own are reasons for optimism. At the moment, they are only five points behind 6th-placed Liverpool and three points behind their next opponent, Everton (8th).

After a 1:1 draw with Aston Villa, coach Andoni Iraola spoke to the media. He said they would accept a point before the game, but considering the number of chances they created, they cannot be happy. He said the team is playing well but has to continue pushing forward.
