Eibar vs Mirandes prediction 02.01.2026 | La Liga 2

It seems that Eibar's golden years have passed. After a few good seasons in La Liga 2, the team from Estadio Municipal de Ipurua collected only 21 points in 19 matches in the current campaign and could already slip into the relegation zone this weekend. Eibar are in terrible form lately, with only two victories in the last eight matches in all competitions. In the most recent outing, they won 3-0 at home against Valladolid. In one of the best performances of the season, Benat San Jose's team created only 1.09, but an excellent efficiency was enough for all three points. A victory like that could provide a significant confidence boost for Eibar.

During the Christmas break, Eibar's head coach, Benat San Jose, spoke about the first part of the season and why they are only one position above the drop zone. He said, "Avoiding mistakes is key. We've made them in both penalty areas with unusual frequency, and many times we've condemned ourselves to negative results. In terms of play, player attitude, and chances created, we've been a team with good statistics and a very lively style. And I was certain that the moment we reduced those errors, as we have in the last two matches, it would bring us much closer to what the fans want and what I like to see."

Eibar have some problems with missing players. They will be without Xeber Alkain, Jair, and Javier Martinez, while Jon Guruzenta is questionable.

After seven consecutive years in La Liga 2, Mirandes are in great danger of relegation. They are at the bottom of the standings, with five points behind the safety, so Jesus Galvan's team has to show much more in the rest of the campaign. Mirandes are without a victory in the last four matches. In the previous game, they lost 2-1 at home against Cordoba. The guests were significantly better than the hosts, especially in the second half, and it would be unfair if Mirandes found a way to avoid defeat. 

Mirandes are the worst defensive team in La Liga 2 this season, with 31 conceded goals in 19 league matches. Jesus Galvan's team has to significantly improve its defense in the January transfer window to even have a chance of surviving in the competition. 

Juan Gutierrez received a red card in the previous league round and will not play on Friday night in Eibar. Also, Pablo Lopez and Sergio Postigo are questionable, while Rafel Bauza is questionable.
